Rigoletto at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus – cast change

We would like to announce that, due to the illness of the tenor Dimitris Paksoglou, the role of the Duke of Mantua in three performances of Rigoletto at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus –on 2, 5 and 8 June 2022– is to be performed by the Italian tenor Francesco Demuro. Demuro, who started out in Parma back in 2007 and is considered among the world’s most acclaimed tenors, has carved himself an impressive career at major opera houses around the globe, performing Verdi, Puccini, Donizetti, Bellini, and others to great success. He has performed the role of the Duke of Mantua at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, Opéra national de Paris, Teatro Real in Madrid, Arena di Verona, and the San Francisco Opera, as well as in Zurich, Tokyo, Berlin, Hamburg, and Frankfurt, and in 2022 performed the role at both the Royal Opera House in London and the Vienna State Opera.
