GNO Professional Dance School Dancers and Dance Teachers Programme

The admission exams for the Greek National Opera Dance School for the academic year 2025-2026 will be held in two rounds. The first round of selection will take place on 14 and 15 September 2025, and the second and final round will take place on 16 September 2025. All candidates must be present in both rounds.

The time and candidate groups for the first round of exams will be announced in the “NEWS & ANNOUNCEMENTS” section of the Greek National Opera’s official website (https://www.nationalopera.gr/nea-anakoinoseis) by Friday, 5 September 2025. Candidates will be listed in each group in alphabetical order. Successful candidates of the first round will pass to the second round. The students of the new academic year will be selected from the successful candidates of the second round. Candidates will take an exam in classical ballet, modern dance, and rhythmics, in the presence of a selection panel.

Prior to the exams, a round of preparatory courses will be held from 10 to 13 September to acquaint participants with the techniques in which they will be tested. Candidates who will not attend the preparatory courses will still be entitled to participate in the admission exams. Candidates interested in attending the preparatory courses must indicate this in their application form and attend all classes.

  • Each candidate will be listed in groups by the School. Candidates will not be allowed to change groups, unless in exceptional circumstances and after prior communication with the School.
  • On the first day of the preparation round, candidates should be at the School at least 45 minutes prior to the start of the classes.

The detailed programme of the preparation round, as well as the candidate groups, will be announced in the “NEWS & ANNOUNCEMENTS” section of the Greek National Opera’s official webpage (https://www.nationalopera.gr/nea-anakoinoseis) by Friday, 5 September.
