SOTIRIS TRIANTIS

Greek baritone, he was born in Corfu, where he began his studies in clarinet (‘Mantzaros’ Philharmonic Society) and music theory (Corfu Conservatory). He studied singing at the ‘Nikolaos Mantzaros’ Conservatory (scholarship) and with Tassos Apostolou. He has participated in masterclasses with Dimitri Kavrakos, Christophoros Stamboglis and Pietro Ballo (opera), Andreas Reibenspies (Lied) and Stephen Varcoe (oratorio). As a soloist, he has collaborated with the Greek National Opera (The Cornelian Secret), Armonia Atenea at festivals in Salzburg, Athens and Aegean (In the Penal Colony by Philip Glass, Giulietta e Romeo by Zingarelli, Kiss Me Kate, Jocasta by George Kouroupos, Rigoletto, Carmen), with the orchestras of Athens Municipality, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Corfu Conservatory, Ionian Islands (Carmen, Cavalleria rusticana, Carmina Burana), Theodore Antoniou’s Contemporary Music Orchestra (Hindemith’s Hin und zurück) and with Rafi Music Theatre Company (Alcina, Frossini). He has participated in an album featuring works by Ionian composers as well as in countertenor Franco Fagioli’s album Rossini (Deutsche Grammophon). He teaches singing at the Corfu Conservatory.
