ROBERTO ALAGNA

French-Sicilian tenor. Having pursued a career spanning forty years, he has sung more than sixty lead roles such as Alfredo (La traviata), Andrea Chénier, Calaf (Turandot), Canio (Pagliacci), Cavaradossi (Tosca), Des Grieux (Manon), Don Carlo, Don José (Carmen), Faust, Manrico (Il trovatore), Maurizio (Adriana Lecouvreur), Nemorino (L’elisir d’amore), Otello, Radamès (Aida), Rodolfo (La bohème), Roméo (Roméo et Juliette), Ruggero (La rondine), Samson (Samson et Dalila), Turiddu (Cavalleria rusticana), Werther. He has performed more than 100 times on the stages of major houses such as the MET and Royal Opera House London. He has also sung Rodrigue (Le Cid), Lancelot (Le Roi Arthus) and the title roles in Vasco da Gama and Cyrano de Bergerac. His discography includes complete operas, duets, anthologies and popular songs. Recent releases include Puccini in Love (with Aleksandra Kurzak), The Singer, Caruso 1873, Stabat Mater by Arvo Pärt, Lord and Roberto Alagna 60. He has also appeared in numerous DVDs, including a film of Tosca, whilst he played at the Folies Bergère the title role in Al Capone, a musical composed especially for him.
