Francesco Pio Galasso

Italian tenor, acclaimed for his interpretation in great roles of the operatic repertoire such as Calaf (Turandot), Mario Cavaradossi (Tosca) and Don José (Carmen). He studied classical guitar, later he began singing studies with Rosa Ricciotti and Amelia Felle, and perfected his technique with Montserrat Caballé and Giuseppe Giacomini. He has performed in prestigious opera houses and festivals worldwide including the Teatro San Carlo (Naples), Bolshoi Theatre, Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Arena di Verona, Hungarian State Opera, Mariinsky Theatre, Teatro Massimo in Palermo, Teatro Carlo Felice (Genoa) and Musikverein Graz. He has interpreted roles such as the Duke of Mantua (Rigoletto), Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly), Ismaele (Nabucco), Licinius (La vestale), Macduff (Macbeth), Rodolfo (La bohème), Roméo (Roméo et Juliette), Alfredo (La traviata), Manrico (Il trovatore), Enzo Grimaldo (La Gioconda), Don Alvaro (La forza del destino), Don Carlo and Des Grieux (Manon). Moreover, he has participated in numerous concerts across Europe and Asia together with renowned operatic artists and under the baton of famous conductors. This is his first collaboration with the Greek National Opera.
