MARIA KOSOVITSA

Greek soprano, she was born in Athens. She began her music studies at the Athenaeum Conservatory, where she obtained diplomas in monody (class of Christina Yannakopoulou) and piano (class of Sοphia Rosmaraki). She is a graduate of the Department of History and Archaeology (NKUA). She pursued postgraduate studies in monody at the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp (Maria Callas scholarship, 2021). She continues her studies with Italian mezzo-soprano Claudia Marchi. In 2024, she was selected by the Accademia Verdiana of the Teatro Regio in Parma. In the same year, she won the second prize at the International opera competition ‘Voci Verdiane’ and made her debut as Leonora (Il trovatore) at the Teatro Mancinelli in Orvieto, Italy. In 2025, she was selected by the Teatro Regio in Parma to cover the lead role in Verdi’s opera Giovanna d’Arco as well as the role of Desdemona in Verdi’s Otello. She made her debut with the GNO last year as Liù (Turandot, Odeon of Herodes Atticus) and performed as a soloist at the International Opera Awards Ceremony (Stavros Niarchos Hall, SNFCC).
