MARIA KOSOVITSA

Greek soprano, she was born in Athens. She began her music studies at the Athenaeum Conservatory, where she obtained diplomas in monody (class of Christina Yannakopoulou) and piano (class of Sοphia Rosmaraki). She is a graduate of the Department of History and Archaeology of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She pursued postgraduate studies in monody at the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp (Maria Callas scholarship, 2021). She continues her studies with mezzo-soprano Claudia Marchi. In 2024, she was selected by the Accademia Verdiana of the Teatro Regio in Parma and in the same year won second prize at the international opera competition “Voci Verdiane”. In 2024, she made her debut as Leonora in Verdi’s opera Il trovatore at the Teatro Mancinelli in the city of Orvieto, Italy. In January 2025, she was selected by the Teatro Regio in Parma to cover the lead role in Verdi’s opera Giovanna d’Arco, performed by the internationally renowned soprano Nino Machaidze.
