CATHERINE FOSTER

English soprano, she has become known worldwide for her interpretation of Brünn- hilde, having performed numerous times at the Bayreuth Festival, and to which she has returned as Brünnhilde (Die Walküre, Götterdämmerung), as well as Isolde (Tristan und Isolde). Her dramatic repertoire also includes roles like Elektra, Turandot, Färberin (Die Frau ohne Schatten), Leonore (Fidelio), Senta (Der fliegende Holländer), Sieglinde (Die Walküre), Abigaille (Nabucco), Leonora (La forza del destino) and others which she has performed all over the world, most recently at Deutsche Oper Berlin, Royal Opera House (London), Deutsche Oper am Rhein, in Hamburg, Madrid, Melbourne, Barcelona, Wagner Days in Budapest (Müpa), Naples, Tokyo, Washington DC with outstanding conductors such as Kirill Petrenko, Marek Janowski, Adam Fischer, Antonio Pappano, Andris Nelsons, Philippe Auguin, Semyon Bychkov, Simone Young, Sir Donald Runnicles, Hartmut Haenchen, Kent Nagano, Dan Ettinger and Daniel Barenboim. For her extraordinary performances as an international singer, Catherine was awarded an honorary scholarship from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. The London Wagner Society also awarded her the prestigious Reginald Goodall Prize for her dedication to the works of Richard Wagner.
