HANNE FISCHER

Multi-awarded Danish mezzo-soprano, she first appeared as Fricka and Waltraute in David McVicar’s Prize Awarded Ring in Strasbourg (2007-2011). She is a member of the Royal Danish Theatre’s soloist ensemble since 1997. Here she sings a vast repertoire for her voice, including Sesto (La clemenza di Tito), Carmen, Sister Helen Prejean (Heg- gie’s Dead Man Walking), Blanca (The Extermination Angel by Adès) and Auntie (Peter Grimes). Moreover, she appears in the Wagnerian roles, including Brangäne (Tristan and Isolde). She has worked with several of Europe’s great directors, conductors and orchestras, among others at the Glyndebourne Festival, Berlin State Opera, Hamburg State Opera, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, the opera houses of Antwerp and Strasbourg, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Berlin Philharmonie, Salle Pleyel in Paris, Barbican Hall in London, etc, and has recorded many CDs for Dacapo Records, Chandos and Naxos with the Aalborg Symphony Orchestra, the Danish National Symphony Orchestra and the Royal Danish Orchestra. She is appointed Knight of 1st Degree by Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II.
