MARINA PRUDENSKAYA

Born in St Petersburg, her appearances in famous houses worldwide make her one of the most sought-after mezzo-sopranos in the world. She studied child psychology at St Petersburg State University and singing at the St Petersburg Conservatory. She began her brilliant career in 1998 at the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Music Theatre in Moscow and in 2000 she moved to the Nuremberg State Theatre. She has been a member of the ensemble of the Deutsche Oper Berlin (2005-2007), Stuttgart Opera (2007-2013) and since 2013 she has been an ensemble member of the Berlin State Opera. She has worked with prestigious conductors and directors in leading opera houses and festivals such as the Bavarian State Opera, La Scala in Milan, Opéra Bastille (Paris), Royal Opera House (Covent Garden, London), Zurich Opera, Monte Carlo Opera, Washington National Opera, Teatro Real (Madrid), Vienna State Opera, Bayreuth Festival, Mariinski Theatre. Her repertoire includes famous roles, oratorios, song cycles and lieder. She has received numerous awards.
