ANDREAS KARAOULIS

Greek tenor, he was born and raised in Piraeus. He holds a degree in philology with a specialisation in linguistics (NKUA). He obtained his diploma in monody with honours and first prize under the guidance of Stamatis Beris. He continued his studies in the educational programme of the Greek National Opera ‘Youth Opera’, under the artistic direction of Angelo Simos. He has collaborated with the Music Ensembles of the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation, the Athens Municipality Symphony Orchestra and the GNO in such productions as Otello, Faust, Rigoletto, Lohengrin, Les Contes d’Hoffmann (Nathanaël / Spalanzani), Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk (Coachman / Teacher), Turandot (Pong) as well as in such symphonic works as Das Lied von der Erde by Mahler, Liturgies and Requiem of Schubert, Haydn, Brahms, etc. In independent productions, he has appeared in Salome, Die Zauberflöte, Norma, Die Fledermaus. As a soloist in the Hellenic Navy Band, he participates in gala concerts and chamber music evenings in venues like the Presidential Mansion, Athens Concert Hall, Royal Theatre of Thessaloniki as well as in the USA, Italy and Switzerland.
