MIRANDA MAKRYNIOTI

Greek mezzo-soprano, she was born in Athens. She studied at the National Conservatory (Athens), Royal Academy of Music (London) and at the Opera Studio of the Greek National Opera. She has sung a wide range of repertoire from pre-classical to contemporary music such as Il Destino and Furia (La Calisto), Dido (Dido and Aeneas), Alcina, Amour (Orphée aux enfers) and Sandmännchen (Hänsel und Gretel). Moreover, at the Greek National Opera she has sung Cherubino (Le nozze di Figaro), Zerlina (Don Giovanni), Tebaldo (Don Carlo), Hotel Maid (Věc Makro-pulos), Jano (Jenůfa) and Page (Beware! The Prince is Messy). She has cooperated with the Music Ensembles of the Athens Municipality, Pan-European Philharmonia of Warsaw (Aegean Festival), Armonia Atenea (Athens Epidaurus Festival) and Rafi Music Theatre Company. In cooperation with the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation and as part of the screening of the film The Apaches of Athens of the Gaziadis Brothers, she recorded parts from the role of Titika.
