NIKOS KOTENIDIS

Greek baritone, he studied classical guitar and music theory at the National Conservatory of Kozani. He studied singing under Christina Yannakopoulou at the Athenaeum Conservatory (Athens) and got his diploma with honours and first prize. Moreover, he studied at the GNO Opera Studio under Aris Christofellis. He continued his postgraduate studies (‘Maria Callas’ scholarship) at the University of Music and Theatre in Munich under Dafne Evangelatos, while he was a permanent member of the Klagenfurt State Theatre. He made his debut as Guglielmo (Così fan tutte) at the Greek National Opera and Klagenfurt State Theatre. Ever since, he has performed such roles as Don Giovanni / Masetto (Don Giovanni), Papageno (Die Zauberflöte), Figaro (Le nozze di Figaro), Eisenstein / Dr Falke (Die Fledermaus), Dimitrius (A Midsummer Night’s Dream), Valentin (Faust), Albert (Werther), Sharpless (Madama Butterfly), Marcello / Schaunard (La bohème), Doristo (L’arbore di Diana), Jupiter (Orphée aux enfers), Le Dancaïre / Moralès (Carmen) and Richelieu (Mademoiselle de Belle-Isle).
