Chrissa Maliamani

Greek soprano, she was born in Thessaloniki, where she studied singing at the New Conservatory of Thessaloniki under Varvara Tsambali (diploma with honours). Moreover, she completed her postgraduate studies at the Würzburg University of Music under Cheryl Studer. While studying she sang such roles as Blonde (Die Entführung aus dem Serail), Zerbinetta (Ariadne auf Naxos) and Rosina (Il barbiere di Siviglia). Between September 2012 and July 2014 she was a member of the Ensemble of the Plauen-Zwickau Theatre, where she performed numerous roles such as Despina (Così fan tutte), Ännchen (Der Freischütz) and Graziella (Detlev Glanert’s Joseph Süss). She has performed leading roles such as Lucia (Lucia di Lammermoor), Leïla (Les Pêcheurs de perles), Eurydice (Orphée aux enfers), Vivika (The Godson), Violetta (La traviata) and Rosalinde (Die Fledermaus). Moreover, at the GNO she has sung such roles as Pamina (Die Zauberflöte), Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro), Maid (Powder Her Face), Zerlina (Don Giovanni), Sophie (Werther), Betty (Les Éclairs), Anna (I Want to See the Pope!) and Tania (Viva la mamma!).
