YANNIS SELITSANIOTIS

Greek baritone, he was born in Athens. He studied voice in Greece with Efi Adilini (diploma, 2007) and in Germany with Carol Richardson-Smith and Jeff Smith, professors at the Hannover Music Academy. Moreover, he attended courses with soprano Fotini Kostopoulos and Italian baritone Gianni Maffeo. At the Greek National Opera he has sung, among others, Schaunard (La bohème), Paolo Albiani (Simon Boccanegra), Figaro (Le nozze di Figaro), Dr Falke (Die Fledermaus), as well as Escamillo (Carmen) and Tonio (Pagliacci) as part of the “The Suitcase Opera” project (GNO Artistic Events). Moreover, he has sung Alfio (Cavalleria rusticana) at the Thessaloniki Eptapyrgio Festival with the Thessaloniki State Orchestra, Chevalier D’Auvray (Mademoiselle de Belle-Isle by Samaras) with the Athens State Orchestra as well as Tahir and Ignazio (Frossini by Paolo Carrer) with the Rafi Music Theatre Company at the Megaron – The Athens Concert Hall. His repertoire includes Mozart’s Requiem with Armonia Atenea. He participated in Aristophanes’ Peace at the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus (National Theatre, Athens, music by Nikos Kypourgos).
