VIOLETTA LOUSTA

Greek soprano, she studied at the Würzburg University of Music, Germany, with Cheryl Studer. She has sung Judith (Bluebeard’s Castle), Santuzza, Lola (Cavalleria rusticana), Lady Billows (Albert Herring), Second Norn / Gutrune (Götterdämmerung), Countess (Le nozze di Figaro), Poussette (Manon), Second Lady (Die Zauberflöte), Dido (Dido and Aeneas), Tchang-Haitang (Zemlinsky’s Der Kreidekreis), Desdemona / Emilia (Otello), Mother (Hänsel und Gretel), Mimì (La bohème), Clotilde (Norma), Kate Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly). She has worked with such conductors as Bosch, Christopoulos, Karytinos, Economou, Voudouris, Petrou. She has performed with the Greek National Opera, Thessaloniki Concert Hall and Thessaloniki State Orchestra, Olympia Theatre, Athens and Thessaloniki Municipality Orchestras, Symphonic Orchestra of the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation, Eptapyrgio Festival, Odeon of Herodes Atticus, Athens Epidaurus Festival. In 2021 she participated as a soloist in the work Freedom of Marios Joannou Elia with the Symphonic Orchestra of the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation. In 2019 she was chosen for the title role in Richard Strauss’ Ariadne auf Naxos (Malta National Opera). She has presented contemporary Greek composers’ works.
