CHRISTINA POULITSI

Greek soprano, she studied musicology (NKUA) and opera at the Berlin University of the Arts (Maria Callas and Alexandra Trianti scholarships). She considers Zubin Mehta her mentor, under whom she has sung Gilda (Rigoletto, Florence) and has participated in numerous galas worldwide. Moreover, she has collaborated frequently with Plácido Domingo –considering her performance in Panathenaic Stadium alongside him and José Carreras as her most notable– as well as with Gianandrea Noseda, under whom she had her first recording with the London Symphony Orchestra. She has performed in theatres and festivals globally and has sung the title role in Stravinsky’s The Nightingale (Stresa Festival). She is acclaimed as one of the best interpreters of the Queen of the Night (Die Zauberflöte, ROH (London), Bolshoi Theatre, Berlin, Hamburg, Zurich, Tokyo, Seattle, Paris, Bologna, Barcelona, Shanghai, etc). Also, she has sung Violetta (La traviata, Hamburg State Opera), Lucia (Lucia di Lammermoor), Amina (La sonnambula), Manon (Massenet) at the GNO, Elvira (I puritani), Konstanze (Die Entführung aus dem Serail), Contessa di Folleville (Il viaggio a Reims, Pesaro), etc.
