Joshua Dennis

American lyric tenor Joshua Dennis is known for his “voluptuous, elegant tone” and powerful tenor voice. He gained recognition by originating American opera roles such as Prince Frederic in Poul Ruder’s The Thirteenth Child, Marc in Huang Ruo’s M. Butterfly, “Shoeless” Joe Jackson in Joel Pucket’s The Fix, as well as Theodore in the feature film The Copper Queen by Clint Borzoni. Notable highlights include Don José in Carmen, Roméo in Roméo et Juliette, Alfredo in La traviata, the Duke of Mantua in Rigoletto and Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni. On the concert stage, he sings the tenor soloist in Handel’s Messiah, Beethoven’s Mass in C, Mahler’s Das Lied von der Erde and Beethoven's Symphony No. 9. Joshua was a regional finalist in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions and represented the USA in Plácido Domingo’s Operalia Competition.
