Anastasia Kotsali

Mezzo-soprano, born in Athens. She studied at the GNO Opera Studio, the Chigiana Music Academy, Siena, Mozarteum International Summer Academy, Salzburg, under Tom Krause. She continues her studies with mezzo-soprano Kristina Hammarström and saxophonist Guido de Flaviis. As a soloist, she has collaborated with the Greek National Opera, Armonia Atenea, Athens Epidaurus Festival, Onassis Stegi, Orchestra of Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation, etc. With the Gada Quartet she has performed, in Greek premiere, lieder by the Jewish composer Ilse Weber at the Greek National Opera, Rethymnon Renaissance Festival, Dimitria Festival, Thessaloniki. She and the accordionist Konstantinos Zigkeridis form the Duo Hedi, collaborating regularly with the GNO in performances of baroque and new music. Alongside the soprano Lito Messini, she is a founding member of the Rafi Music Theatre Company (2012) and the Kournos Music Festival, Lemnos (2020, sponsored by the Ministry of Culture). Active since 2012, the Rafi Music Theatre Company has collaborated with all important cultural foundations in Greece (Greek National Opera, Athens Epidaurus Festival, Megaron – The Athens Concert Hall, etc). She studied at the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
