KELLY ZAMBELA

Dancer, choreographer and dance teacher. A graduate of the National School of Dance, she continued her studies at the New York University and the Merce Cunningham Studio (New York). While in the USA, she attended a series of specialised seminars on movement and body awareness. For many years, she was a member of the teaching staff at the National School of Dance and the GNO Professional Dance School, where she taught contemporary dance, rhythmic, improvisation and elements of choreography. In addition, for sixteen years she taught creative movement in the two-year Orff Music and Movement Education programme. She performed with the Choi Dance Company (New York, Seoul), Haris Mandafounis Contemporary Dance Company, and the dance groups Elix, Pelmata, among others. She was a founding member of the group Speira, participating as both choreographer and dancer in the 2nd Thessaloniki Biennale, at the historic ORA Gallery, Mylos (European Meeting for Art and Technology) and at other venues in Greece and abroad. She was also responsible for the artistic direction and choreography of the dance group of the project ‘MELINA – Education and Culture’ (dance in schools).
