LILI PEZANOU

Born in Athens, she studied at the School of Architecture of the National Technical University of Athens (1974–1980). She worked as an architect and assistant set and costume designer in theatre and cinema alongside Dionysis Fotopoulos (1980–1992). Since 1986 she has collaborated as a set and costume designer with state theatres and theatre companies, creating productions for theatre, dance and opera in Greece and abroad. She has designed sets and costumes for film productions. She was a member and scenographer of the creative team that designed and realised the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the Athens 2004 Olympic Games, undertaking the set design and spatial configuration of the venue. She has also designed performance venues, while curating and designing art exhibitions in cooperation with major museums and private galleries. She has edited book publications. From 2009 to 2023, she served as professor of set design at the Athens School of Fine Arts.
