ANTOINE FONTAINE

French set designer, he has worked for opera and cinema. He has been the head set designer for L’Anglaise et le Duc and Triple Agent (dir. Éric Rohmer) and has designed the sets for La Reine Margot (dir. Patrice Chéreau), Vatel (dir. Roland Joffé), Marie Antoinette (dir. Sofia Coppola) and J’accuse (dir. Roman Polanski). He has designed the sets for Die Fledermaus, Il barbiere di Siviglia and Manon by Coline Serreau at the Opéra Bastille (Paris). He joined the Opéra Royal de Versailles for Richard Cœur de Lion, La Caravane du Caire, David et Jonathas by Marshall Pynkoski and Die Entführung aus dem Serail by Michel Fau. He has collaborated with Marc Minkowski and Ivan Alexandre in Lucio Silla (Salzburg), Die Fledermaus (Opéra-Comique) and in the Da Ponte trilogy (Drottningholm Palace Theatre). At the Opéra national du Capitole de Toulouse he designed the sets for Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, Hippolyte et Aricie (dir. Ivan Alexandre), The Nutcracker, La traviata, Les Pêcheurs de perles (dir. Thomas Lebrun) and Der fliegende Holländer (dir. Michel Fau).
