STEPHANOS DROUSSIOTIS

He was born in Cyprus. He is a theatre artist mainly active in stage direction, lighting design and music editing. He studied piano at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts and theatre studies at the University of Athens. Since 2014 he has been working closely with Dimitris Papaioannou, editing the music and the lighting design for many of his productions. For the lighting of the work Transverse Orientation he was honoured with the Bessie Award for Outstanding Visual Design (New York, 2023). As a lighting designer, he has also collaborated with such artists as Christos Papadopoulos, Euripides Laskaridis, Mario Banushi as well as with the legendary Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch in 2017. As an artistic collaborator and musical director, he has worked on large-scale international productions (Baku, 2015; Abu Dhabi, 2019), while as a creative producer he has collaborated with Louis Vuitton for the presentation of the Deep Time collection at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus. His work as a lighting designer has been presented since 2021 on the most important venues around the world.
