ERIE KYRGIA

A graduate of the Department of Theatre Studies (NKUA, A. Papadakis scholarship), she has been a scholarship holder and graduate of the interdisciplinary MA of the Departments of Theatre Studies (NKUA) and Music Studies (Ionian University). She works as a dramaturg, translator, dramatologist, librettist, manager of artistic projects. She has collaborated with Yannis Houvardas, Michael Marmarinos, Dimitris Tarlow, Konstantin Bogomolov, Oskaras Koršunovas, Cezaris Graužinis, Dimitris Karantzas, Katerina Evangelatos, Yorgos Koutlis, Konstantinos Rigos, Ioannis Mandafounis, Antonis Foniadakis as well as with the National Theatre of Greece, GNO, Poria Theatre, Onassis Stegi, SNFCC, Cyprus Theatre Organisation, Art Theatre, Piraeus Municipal Theatre, with the Russian group Chto Delat, The Medium Project opera group, etc. She has translated from the original languages works by Ibsen, Fosse, Strindberg, Chekhov, Beckett, Pinter, Bernhard, Coward, etc. She has written librettos for operas by George Dousis and Panagiotis Liaropoulos. She was deputy artistic director (September 2019 – February 2021) and artistic director (February – December 2021) of the National Theatre of Greece. She teaches dramaturgy at the Directing Department of the National Theatre Drama School.
