ANGELOS TRIANTAFYLLOU

Born in Athens, Angelos Triantafyllou studied engineering, music, composition and acting. He is mainly involved in composing music for theatre and has collaborated with the National Theatre of Greece, the Onassis Stegi and the Athens Epidaurus Festival, with directors such as Nikos Karathanos, Vassilis Papavassiliou, Michail Marmarinos, Stathis Livathinos, Nikita Milivojević, Yannis Kalavrianos, Yannis Moschos, Dimitris Tarlow and Sofia Vgenopoulou on works like Golfo, Birds, Operetta, The Cherry Orchard, Helen, Prometheus, The Suppliant Women, A Streetcar Named Desire, Three Sisters. His music has been performed at the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus, St. Ann’s Warehouse in New York, Santiago a Mil International Theatre Festival in Chile, Montpellier Festival, Örebro Theatre in Sweden, as well as in many theatres in Athens. He has written the work Dangerous Age based on Greek poems about the death of youth, the chamber music piece Medea, as well as song cycles for Greek singers. He directs musical performances and has performed as an actor and musician himself in many works of the world and Greek repertoire. His opera Inland was commissioned by the GNO and staged in 2022 at the Stavros Niarchos Hall (SNFCC).
