RON HOWELL

British choreographer, he studied at the London Contemporary Dance School. He is an associate director, movement director and choreographer of the Birmingham Opera Company. His works include numerous opera productions in the most prestigious theatres worldwide, among which The Queen of Spades, Eugene Onegin, Manon Lescaut, Le nozze di Figaro, Così fan tutte, Don Giovanni (Glyndebourne Festival), The Marriage of Figaro (ENO), Mitradate, re di Ponto, Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, L’Arianna, The Midsummer Marriage, Falstaff, Tamerlano (ROH), Falstaff (Welsh National Opera), The Queen of Spades (Chicago), Macbeth, Eugene Onegin, Luciano Berio’s World Premiere Outis, Die tote Stadt (La Scala), Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk, Mitridate, re di Ponto (Sydney), Parsifal (Opéra national de Paris), La traviata (Verona, BOC), Les Troyens, Idomeneo, Tamerlano, Macbeth (Florence). He has received numerous international opera awards such as the Royal Philharmonic Society Awards for Opera and Music Theatre, the Jan Kiepura Polish Theatre and Music Award (Poland), Premio Clara Campoamor (Spain), Laurence Olivier Award, South Bank Show Award.
