AURÉLIE MAESTRE

Born in Marseille, she graduated with honours in scenography from the ENSAD, Paris (1999). She initially served five years as an assistant scenographer at the Aix-en-Provence Festival before joining the Teatro Real in Madrid until 2009. Maestre made her design debut in 2001 with Philippe Calvario’s La Mouette and later collaborated on Roberto Zucco. Since 2014, she has been a frequent collaborator with Clément Hervieu-Léger, contributing to productions at renowned theatres such as the Théâtre des Bouffes du Nord and Comédie-Française. In addition to theatre, she has designed opera and dance sets, including the Ballets de l’Opéra national du Rhin. She has worked with the director Vincent Huguet since 2016. Their partnership has led to successful projects at the Gulbenkyan Foundation in Lisbon, Vienna State Opera, Aix-en-Provence Festival (Dido and Aeneas, 2018) and Opéra Bastille (Manon, 2020). More recently, she designed three sets for the Mozart / Da Ponte trilogy at the Berlin State Opera (2021/22).
