LUCA BIGAZZI

Born in Milan, he started working as an assistant director on commercials but he became a cinematographer with Italian director Silvio Soldini. Their first movie (Landscape with Figures [Paesaggio con figure]) was presented at the Locarno Film Festival. Since then he has been dividing his career between films and documentaries. He has worked with such directors as Gianni Amelio, Mario Martone, Carlo Mazzacurati, Abbas Kiarostami, Paolo Virzì and Paolo Sorrentino. He has won seven “David di Donatello” and eight “Silver Ribbon” awards. In 2013 he became a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS).
