ION KESOULIS

Greek stage director and actor, he graduated from the Drama School of the Karolos Koun Art Theatre (Athens) and completed his postgraduate studies on Management of Cultural Organisations (University of Athens). He attended lessons of classical singing with Victoria Maifatova and Katy Papalexopoulou, as well as seminars of ancient drama, Japanese theatre and direction under Anatoly Vasiliev, Alexey Levinsky and Michail Marmarinos. As an actor he has performed οn theatre stages and venues in Athens and at the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus. He taught drama at the Philippos Nakas Conservatory and at the Athenaeum Conservatory, as well as theatre and improvisation at the Opera Studio of the GNO, where he works as a stage director’s assistant. As a stage director’s assistant or a stage director he has worked for over 70 productions at the Greek National Opera, Athens Concert Hall and the Olympia Theatre and has cooperated with such stage directors as Warlikowski, Şerban, Wilson, Fulljames, Del Monaco, Langridge, Poda, Ardant, Petropoulos, Evangelatos, Kokkos, Karathanos. He directed Telemann’s Pimpinone (“The Pocket Opera” project), which was presented at various venues as well as at the Visitors Center of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center.
