PETER MUMFORD

English lighting designer, he trained as a stage designer at the Central School of Art, London. His recent opera and dance credits include Dance of Death (Orange Tree Theatre), Indian Ink and House of Games (Hampstead Theatre), Corybantic Games (Bastille, Paris), Grace Pervades, As You Like It (Theatre Royal, Bath), Roberto Devereux (Bergamo), Peter Grimes (Rome), The Ferryman (Gielgud Theatre, London, and Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre, New York), 42nd Street (Theatre Royal Drury Lane), My Name is Lucy Barton (Manhattan Theatre Club, New York), Der Ring des Nibelungen (Opera North), King Kong (Broadway Theatre, New York). He directed and designed concert stagings (The Ring Cycle, Otello, Fidelio, Der fliegende Holländer). He has received two Olivier Awards (Outstanding Achievement in Dance and Best Lighting Design for The Bacchae by Euripides, Royal National Theatre, London), South Bank Sky Arts Opera Award for The Ring Cycle as well as Helpmann and Green Room Awards. He has been two-time Tony nominee for The Ferryman and King Kong.
