ANNEMARIE WOODS

Born in Omagh (Northern Ireland), she designs sets and costumes for theatre, opera, film. In 2011, she won the Ring Award (Graz, Austria) and the European Opera Prize with stage director Sam Brown. Her set and costume designs include Don Giovanni (Lithuanian Opera and Ballet, Bergen Opera, NΙΟ), Semele (Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, ROH), Rigoletto (Welsh National Opera), Polifemo (Opéra national du Rhin), Trouble in Tahiti / A Quiet Place (ROH), Il trovatore (ROH, Zurich Opera), Le nozze di Figaro (Bavarian State Opera), The Rape of Lucretia (ROH, Snape Maltings), The Handmaid’s Tale (ENO), Billy Budd (Finnish National Opera, Norwegian National Opera and Ballet), Eugene Onegin (Scottish Opera), The Lighthouse (Irish National Opera). Moreover, she has designed costumes for The Excursions of Mr Brouček, Coriolanus, Orfeo, La Gioconda, Aida, Coppélia, Roméo et Juliette, Girl with a Pearl Earring, Sweeney Todd, Don Quixote, Cavalleria rusticana / Pagliacci, Madama Butterfly, Osud, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, La traviata and Pity. She first collaborated with the GΝΟ in Don Giovanni (2022).
