Jannis Anissegos

He has held the position of Sub-Principal in the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra since 1999. He studied the flute at the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki with Ilie Macovei, at the Soloist Department of the Cologne School of Music with Hans Martin Müller (on an A. Triantis scholarship) and at Trinity College of Music in London with Anna Noakes, Lynda Coffin and Alan Baker (piccolo). He is also a graduate of the Department of Music Studies at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. His interest in contemporary music and his use of extended techniques on flute instruments have brought him into contact with many composers and expanded his repertoire. He is a member of the contemporary music ensembles dissonArt ensemble and IAMA Trio. Since 2004, he has been a constant presence with these ensembles at festivals and on main stages across Europe, including Münchener Biennale, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Musikprotokoll Graz, Festival Mixtur Barcelona, Biennale Salzburg, WDR Köln, Athens Epidaurus Festival, etc. He is also active as a flute teacher and has taught at the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki since 2017. He has also led flute seminars at the Music Village, AVGO, and the Music Camp in Agios Nikolaos, Halkidiki.
