Lina Pigadioti-Tzima

She studied at the Parsons School of Art & Design in Paris (BFA, 1991). In 1990, she attended a semester at the Central Saint Martins College of Arts & Design in London and, in 2014, she participated in a printmaking masterclass at the Columbia University (School of Visual Arts), New York. She travels extensively for inspiration, taking pictures, writing and collecting objects and memories, to be transformed into images. She aims to imprint the vague notion of time and chance onto very specific surfaces and volumes. As in her artistic practice, she chooses to use a direct communication language in the theatre –as set and costume designer– in which austerity, simplicity and aesthetics embrace the director’s vision. The perception of the space always functions in a three-dimensional way and the narration is completed with little frisks of joy and ingenuity by activating the interactive relation between audience and artwork / stage.
