Pierre Gallon

Since the age of ten, he realised that the harpsichord offered the best way of expressing himself. He studied at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris with Olivier Baumont and Blandine Rannou. He graduated with two first prizes and honours. He sees music as a primarily collective adventure and, as a result, he collaborates with famous ensembles such as Pygmalion, Le Poème Harmonique, Correspondances, Inalto, Les Musiciens de Saint Julien and Le Caravansérail. In 2014, his first solo recording of works published by Pierre Attaingnant was unanimously acclaimed by critics. He is often invited to perform recitals at festivals such as La Roque d’Anthéron, Académie Bach (Arques la Bataille), La Folle Journée (Nantes), Festival de l’Epau, Poznań Baroque, Venetian Centre for Baroque Music and the Abbaye de Royaumont, where he recorded a second CD with Haydn’s music, released in 2018. His third solo recording was released in 2023, and he stages the Parisian meeting between Louis Couperin and Johann Jakob Froberger. He performs in a harpsichord duet with Bertrand Cuiller and, as a “band of harpsichords”, with Yoann Moulin and Freddy Eichelberger. His regular music partners include the violist Lucile Boulanger, the lutenist Thomas Dunford and the soprano Alice Foccroulle.
