Vangelis Paschalidis

He has been professionally involved in music since 1997. He studied music theory, harmony, counterpoint, fugue and composition at the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki. He was taught the santur with Tassos Diakoyiorgis and Nikos Kalaitzis. He has collaborated with artists such as Zad Moultaka, Tony Gatlif, Ross Daly, Eleni Karaindrou, Savina Yannatou, Kostas Theodorou, Alkinoos Ioannidis, Sokratis Sinopoulos, Kyriakos Gouventas, Lizeta Kalimeri, Nikos Dimitratos, Mariza Koch, Orhan Osman, Nektarios Karantzis, the Greek folk music band Daemonia Nymphe etc. He has taught in primary schools, at the Municipal Conservatory of Kalamaria, the Conservatory of Northern Greece, the Polyanio Conservatory of Kilkis, the Department of Traditional Music of the Technological Educational Institute of Epirus, the Department of Music Science and Art of the University of Macedonia, the En Chordais School of Traditional and Byzantine Music in Thessaloniki. He participated in the documentary that he co-created with the director Giorgos Papoutsis, dedicated to George Hadjinikos (internationally renowned pianist, conductor and teacher of distinguished soloists around the world). The documentary covered seminars and interviews which took place over a ten-year period. It premiered in 2015 and was screened at several Greek festivals.
