David Negrin

He is a postgraduate and graduate of the National Technical University of Athens and a graduate of the Department of Interior Architecture, Decorative Arts & Design of the Technological Educational Institute of Athens. Ηe is a PhD candidate at the School of Architecture of the National Technical University of Athens, with a research scholarship on the relationship between theatre directing and architecture. He has attended masterclasses on directing, theatre lighting and theatrical masks. He has been a set designer and technical supervisor for several international opera productions in Wiesbaden, Versailles, Bad Lauchstädt, etc. He was the set designer for Vincenzo Bellini’s Norma at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus in 2023 (dir. Tom Wolf). Since 2003, he has collaborated with many theatre venues, directors and authors. He also designs escape rooms, exhibition stands (Athens, Paris) and exhibitions (embassies, museums). He has taken part in two art exhibitions. He teaches stage design – freehand drawing at the School of Architecture of the National Technical University of Athens and runs a workshop for young stage designers. He has taught stage design in the Iasmos (2002-10), Ekti Techni (2021-24) and Peiraikos Sindesmos (2023-24) Drama Schools. He has his own architectural office. He is the writer, director and choreographer of Blue, a silent performance that combines elements of mime, classical ballet and stage devices.
