Konstantinos Terzakis

Appointed assistant conductor of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (2022/23) and selected conductor of Klangspuren Schwaz Festival 2021 under the International Ensemble Modern Academy, he has been based in the United Kingdom since 2019. He is an MMus graduate and full scholar of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, where he studied orchestral conducting with Martyn Brabbins, Garry Walker and Alasdair Mitchell. During his time with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, he has assisted Ludovic Morlot at the Aldeburgh Festival and Kazuki Yamada at the BBC Proms. In the summer of 2022 he debuted at the Athens Epidaurus Festival and was selected as conducting fellow at the Lucerne Festival Academy 2022. In 2023, he is selected semifinalist of the Siemens Hallé International Conductors Competition and finalist of the Donatella Flick Conducting Competition where he will conduct the Hallé Symphony Orchestra and the London Symphony Orchestra respectively.
