George Koutlis

He graduated from the Acting Department of the Athens Conservatoire Drama School, the School of Law of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and the Theatre Directing Department of the Russian Institute of Theatre Arts – GITIS (under Yevgeny Kamenkovich – Dmitry Krymov, master’s degree). He speaks Greek, English, French and Russian. Ηe has staged Mudrets (Ostrovsky), Talk Show (Suyako), The Dog, the Night and the Knife (Mayenburg). He has also translated and staged the plays Playing the Victim (Presnyakov Brothers), The Gamblers (Gogol), The Dream of a Ridiculous Man (Dostoevsky), The Man from Padolsk (Danilov) and others, collaborating with the National Theatre of Greece, the Athens Epidaurus Festival, the Municipal and Regional Theatre of Crete, Kivotos Theatre, Poreia Theatre, Vene Teater (Tallinn, Estonia) and others. Since 2019, he has taught acting at the Athens Conservatoire Drama School. In 2022, he was appointed artistic director of the Experimental Stage – Emerging Artists of the National Theatre of Greece.
