Yannis Kalyvas

Greek tenor, a graduate of the Department of Communication and Media Studies, he also studied piano and classical singing (diploma) at the Attiko Conservatory, Athens. He continued his studies at the Music Academy of Würzburg and at the Music and Theatre Academy of Munich. He has been a scholar of the Richard Wagner Verband Würzburg and the Maria Callas Scholarships Society. He has performed such roles as Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni), Tamino (Die Zauberflöte, Aix-en-Provence Festival), Goro (Madama Butterfly), Beppe (Pagliacci), Arturo (Lucia di Lammermoor), An Incroyable (Andrea Chénier), Frantz (Les Contes
d’Hoffmann), Bardolfo (Falstaff), Belmonte (Die Entführung aus dem Serail), Oronte (Alcina), Candide, Tony (West Side Story), Anthony (Sweeney Todd), Roderigo (Otello), Abdallo (Nabucco), Gherardo (Gianni Schicchi), Danilo / Camille de Rosillon (Die lustige Witwe), Muctar (Frossini), Pluton (Orphée aux enfers), Nikos (The Wax Doll). He sang in the operas The Fugitives of the Chessboard and Ηope of Homeland by George Kouroupos. He has worked with leading conductors and stage directors. Since 2018 he has been a member of the MEIZON Ensemble.
