Zoe Apiranthitou

Greek mezzo-soprano, she studied piano, advanced music theory and singing at the National Conservatory, Athens. She also studied at the Acting Workshop of Spyros Evangelatos’ Amphi-Theatre with Kostas Paskalis, Lukas Karytinos, Antonis Kontogeorgiou, etc. With Alexander S. Onassis scholarship she continued her studies at the Theatre Academy of La Scala, Milan, with Roberto Coviello and Roberto Negri. She attended seminars with Carlo Bergonzi, Gianfranca Ostini, Francesco Ellero d’Artegna and Elena Obraztsova. She has sung in such works as Les Contes d’Hoffmann, Rigoletto, Le nozze di Figaro, Peter Grimes, Cavalleria rusticana, Madama Butterfly, Ritsiardis’ Carnival Dream (concertante), as well as in recitals and concerts, performing classical repertoire, Greek songs and religious works. She was awarded at the International Hans Gabor Belvedere Singing Competition (Vienna, 1997). She sang at the Manolis Kalomiris Festival (Samos, 2007) and at Panagiotis Karousos’ opera Prometheus Bound (Parnassos Literary Society Concert Hall, Hellenic Authors’ Society). Moreover, as a soloist she has sung for the Holy Archdiocese of Athens and Unesco.
