Tickets for the Greek National Opera productions scheduled from April to July 2026 at the Stavros Niarchos Hall and the Alternative Stage in the SNFCC will go on sale starting Monday, 9 February 2026, at 9.00.

For 12 performances beginning on April 30th, the GNO will present, for the first time in Greece, a faithful revival of Carmen’s world premiere, which took place at the Opéra Comique in Paris in 1875. The production will be directed by Romain Gilbert and conducted by Konstantinos Terzakis, featuring world-class opera stars like Gaëlle Arquez, Cellia Costea, Marina Viotti, Charles Castronovo, and Andrea Carè. Furthermore, a unique Concert for Peace will be presented on Holy Tuesday, 7 April 2026, at the Stavros Niarchos Hall, featuring the Jewish-German violinist Liv Migdal and the Iranian-German conductor Yalda Zamani. This concert is a co-production between the Thessaloniki State Opera and the Greek National Opera.

In April, the Alternative Stage will feature the new opera The Word by Alkis Baltas, with a libretto by Eleni Zafiriou, stage direction by Angela-Kleopatra Saroglou, and Tassis Christoyannis in the lead role. Additionally, on 30 April, the Alternative Stage will also host the world premiere of Rachilde’s daring work Monsieur Vénus, which is co-produced by Compagnie Cadéëm and the Centre Henri Pousseur (Belgium). This production will feature music by Martin Matalon and direction and choreography by Alfredo Arias and Diana Theocharidi.

In May, the Stavros Niarchos Hall will host the return of the Greek National Opera Ballet’s successful production Golden Age, featuring stage direction, choreography, and sets by Konstantinos Rigos.

Moreover, in May, the Alternative Stage will present the German company Novoflot’s new production titled The 5th Season – Fat Tuesday, which is based on Antonio Vivaldi’s Four Seasons. The programme will also include a piano recital titled Panta Rhei, featuring Christina Panteli, the project Crippled Symmetries: Motifs in Contemporary Music performed by the Ensemble KNM Berlin, as well as the concert DIALOG Across Oceans: Poetry and Colour in Music, performed by the French Ensemble Mêtis.

In July, the Stavros Niarchos Hall will host a revival of Giuseppe Verdi’s opera La traviata, featuring stage direction, sets, and costumes by Nikos S. Petropoulos, and musical direction by Lukas Karytinos. Performing in the leading roles will be Vassiliki Karayanni, Dimitra Kotidou, Yannis Christopoulos, Konstantinos Klironomos, Tassis Christoyannis, and Dionysios Sourbis.
