The Greek National Opera hereby announces an audition to engage accompanist piano player

The Greek National Opera hereby announces an audition to engage one (1) accompanist piano player to meet the Greek National Opera’s artistic needs, for the artistic season 2015 – 2016, and with basic priority the needs of the Greek National Opera’s Ballet Company.

The audition will be held at the Greek National Opera’s Ballet Studio (16, Archimidous St., Kallithea GR-177 78) on Thursday 17th September at 10:30 a.m.

Terms and conditions of participation:

  • Candidates must be qualified either with a piano degree or a piano diploma issued by the State Conservatory or other Conservatory recognized by the Greek State or by the Greek Universities offering qualification in piano or by higher schools offering qualification in piano in a Member State of the European Union or issued by a University offering qualification in piano outside the European Union, whose qualification is recognized by the National Academic Recognition Information Centre (DOATAP, formerly the Greek Inter-University Centre for the Recognition of Foreign Degrees ( former DIKATSA).
  • Excellent knowledge of the Greek language and very good knowledge of the English language, demonstrated by submitting the relevant certificates.

Also candidates with the following qualifications will be favorably taken into account

  • Having professional experience as an accompanist pianist in the ballet repertory
  • Proof of having taken part in concerts.

The candidates will be examined in the following:

    1. S. Prokofiev: “ Romeo and Juliet” – Ballet version transcription, Klavierauszug (Editions Sikorski Nr. 2176):
          a) No 10 Juliet – The young lady (pages. 26-29).
          b) Νο 12 Masks (pages. 34-36).
    2. The pianist will be asked to accompany the ballet class under the direction of the ballet teacher.

  1. A detailed CV with photograph
  2. Qualifications (original diplomas, documents or copies attested by the competent authority).
  3. Proof of professional experience of the candidate.
