The Greek National Opera launches Contemporary Dance Days: groundRules, a new festival dedicated to contemporary dance and artistic creation. For an entire month (June 2027), the Alternative Stage will serve as a space for interaction, experimentation, and cultural exchange, bringing new voices from the Greek choreographic scene to the fore and opening a dialogue with the international artist community. Ranging from physical theater and contemporary ballet to hip-hop, street dance, inclusive practices, and hybrid forms of performance, Contemporary Dance Days will embrace a wide spectrum of aesthetic styles, mapping the vibrant polyphony of the contemporary dance scene. At the same time, workshops, discussions, projections, and encounters with guest artists from Greece and abroad will create a space for exchanging knowledge and experiences, a celebration of dance, and a platform for creating, networking, and shaping the choreographic landscape of the future.
