The Greek National Opera Ballet participates for the first time in the World Ballet Day, on Tuesday 2 October 2018, with an open rehearsal of the Swan Lake, choreographed by the Ballet Director Konstantinos Rigos.
The Swan Lake will be presented by the Greek National Opera Ballet for eight performances, at the GNO Stavros Niarchos Hall at the Stavros Niarchos Cultural Foundation Center, from 10 November to 29 December 2018.
The Greek National Opera’s Ballet dancers leave the rehearsal rooms and step out in the heart of the Stavros Niarchos Cultural Foundation Center, the Agora, to perform one and only rehearsal before the eyes of the spectators. GNO’s Ballet Director and choreographer of the Swan Lake, Konstantinos Rigos, will coordinate the rehearsal and present his choreographic approach.
During the open rehearsal of the Swan Lake, excerpts from all the acts of the work will be presented and the audience will have the unique chance to watch the learning and finalization process of the choreography, as well as the strain, the creative agony and the tension of the rehearsals.
The World Ballet Day is a celebration of the art of dance. Every October the most important Ballets across the globe, give the audiences an opportunity to get a taste of dancers’ demanding life, of their devotion, the rehearsals and the strenuous preparation of the big ballet productions.
The Greek National Opera Ballet’s open rehearsal of the Swan Lake will take place on Tuesday 2 October at 18:00 in the afternoon at the Agora of the Stavros Niarchos Cultural Foundation Center.
