ANNOUNCEMENT OF AUDITIONS FOR PERMANENT ARTISTIC STAFF IN THE GREEK NATIONAL OPERA ORCHESTRA

The Greek National Opera Orchestra will hold auditions during the year 2026 to fill vacant permanent artistic staff positions as follows:

January 2026
- One (1) position: 2nd Violins (Tutti – 5^th Category)
- One (1) position: Flute (Principal – 3^rd Category)
- One (1) position: Double Bass (Subprincipal – 4^th Category)

March 2026
- One (1) position: Tuba (Principal – 3^rd Category)
- One (1) position: Trombone (Principal – 3^rd Category)
- One (1) position: Flute (Subprincipal – 4^th Category)
- One (1) position: Trombone (Subprincipal – 4^th Category)
- One (1) position: Percussion (Subprincipal – 4^th Category)

May 2026
- One (1) position: 1st Violins (Subprincipal – 4^th Category)
- One (1) position: Viola (Tutti – 5^th Category)
- One (1) position: Clarinet (Subprincipal – 4^th Category)

Audition Repertoire
- Mandatory concerto
- One piece of the candidate’s choice
- Orchestral excerpts
- Prima vista (sight-reading)

Exact audition dates, application procedures and required documents as well as the detailed audition repertoire, will be specified and announced in the official notices of each competition in accordance with applicable legislation.
