Open call audition for the Junior Intercultural Orchestra of the GNO Learning & Participation

The GNO Learning & Participation Department launches a new Junior Intercultural Orchestra and invites young musicians aged between 16 and 25, experienced and amateurs, of different nationalities, dealing with diverse types of musical genres, to audition, with the goal of creating a mixed group of young musicians from different communities of the city. The Intercultural Orchestra Junior is created as a continuation of the already existing Intercultural Orchestra and intends to work in a similar framework of learning process and music creation for younger ages. Listen to the Intercultural Orchestra here.

The Intercultural Orchestra Junior aims to embrace people and musical traditions from all over the world, engaging different languages, melodies and rhythms in a dialogue. With music as its tool – an ecumenical practice that unites, converses, and inspires –, it will attempt to assimilate a variety of music styles and bring out the universal power of musical expression.

*The Intercultural Orchestra Junior is not an orchestra of classical music and does not include classical repertoire in its program. The aim is to get to know music traditions from different traditions, free improvisation and musical co-creation through learning processes of exchange and participation.

Orchestra director: Harris Lambrakis
