MINISTRY OF CULTURE AND SPORTS - International Dance Day 2020
The students of the Greek National Opera Professional Dance School celebrate the International Dance Day with a video featuring choreographic phrases of emblematic choreographers such as Maurice Béjart, Ohad Naharin, Marius Petipa, Akram Khan, Mats Ek, DV8 etc.
In pointe shoes, tutus, leotards and track suits but also in character costumes and shoes, the young students of the Dance School get up on roofs, pour out in parks, turn their living-room into a ballet studio and pay tribute to choreographers who have defined
the art of dance and have influenced many generations of great dancers. For the time being #theystayhome and follow courses online, but very soon they will once again meet up in the classroom and on stage to feel the sweat, cry, work hard, fall and rise again,
and be applauded in the name of the art of dance, to which they devote their whole life.
