Free admission coupons for unemployed at "Madama Butterfly" dress rehearsal

Within the context of its open-door policy, the Greek National Opera announces that it will be offering 1,500 seats free of charge to the unemployed for the dress rehearsal and preview of its production of Giacomo Puccini’s Madama Butterfly at the Herod Atticus Odeon on Friday 26 July at 21.00.

Considering the current challenges facing society and the resounding success that the initiative had with the dress rehearsal of The Flying Dutchman at the Herod Atticus in June, the Greek National Opera is once more extending an invitation to the most hard-hit members of our society so that they may enjoy a wonderful piece of opera, an art that knows no social boundaries.

Puccini’s Madama Butterfly, which will be staged on July 27, 28, 30 & 31 at the Herod Atticus Odeon, is directed by the internationally-acclaimed Hugo de Ana and conducted by GNO Artistic Director Myron Michailidis.

Admission coupons to the dress rehearsal will be distributed – on display of the interested party’s unemployment and identity cards – at the Olympia Theatre box office (59 Academias str., tel 210 36 62 100) on the following dates and times:

  • Tuesday 23 July: 12.00 – 21.00
  • Wednesday 24 July: 09.00 – 21.00
  • Thursday 25 July: 09.00 – 13.00
