Konstantinos Rigos is the new GNO Ballet Director

It is announced that upon a decision of GNO Artistic Director, Giorgos Koumendakis, the renowned choreographer and director Konstantinos Rigos is appointed the new GNO Ballet Director

Mr. Rigos will take on the directorship on February 1st, 2018 and his tenure will be of two years.

Greek National Opera's Artistic Director, Giorgos Koumendakis, notes: "It is with great pleasure that I welcome choreographer and director Konstantinos Rigos as GNO Ballet Director. I have been following and admiring his work for 25 years. I am positive that he will bring a renewal spirit to the GNO Ballet, leaving his artistic imprint while respecting its great tradition. With his sensitivity, ethos and rare talent in using different means of expression, Rigos will inspire the GNO Ballet through creations-landmarks in new our home, at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center. I wish him good luck and I will be next to him throughout his tenure".

New GNO Ballet Director, Konstantinos Rigos, says: "I am very happy and honored to assume the position of GNO Ballet Director and would like to thank Giorgos Koumendakis for his proposal.
