Practical information:

- Audience members can enter all venues for free, on a first come first served basis. No advance booking is required.

- Due to the limited space available in many of the festival venues, some of the concerts will be repeated up to three times per day, to give the chance to as large an audience as possible to attend them.

- The concerts of the festival will be of short duration (from 25 to 40 minutes on average), so that audience members can attend more than one, if they wish so.

- The distance from one venue to the other is small, so that audience members have the chance to enjoy many of the festival events.

- The detailed programme will be available online at nationalopera.gr and digitalculture.gov.gr, while the printed programme that will be distributed to the public will include a map with all the venues, summary descriptions of the events, and QR codes referring to the detailed programme on the GNO website.

- All preventive measures against COVID-19 will be adhered to in all venues.

The Hellenic Air Force Music Flight was founded in 1947 under the command of Lieutenant Nicolas Raftopoulos and initially consisted of about 40 reservists. In 1953 it started being staffed with permanent staff. At the present time its permanent members form the Band and the Light Orchestra of the Hellenic Air Force. The Air Force Music Flight is administratively attached to the Hellenic Air Force General Staff and, operationally, to the Chief of Staff Office. Over its 75-year-long course, the Hellenic Air Force Band has done remarkable work both in the military sector and in respect to society as a whole. The Hellenic Air Force Band has a rich repertoire including all music genres (marches, European music, Greek traditional music, Greek and foreign light music) and has given concerts at the Athens and Thessaloniki Concert Halls and in nearly all of Greece. Moreover, it has represented the Hellenic Air Force in military music international festivals and other events abroad.

The Hellenic Air Force Βand will begin performing in front of the Acropolis Museum and with a stop at Thission Square (on Apostolou Pavlou Street) will end at Kapnikarea Square (Ermou Street). It will perform Adagio in G minor by Tomaso Albinoni, Giuseppe Verdi's Marcia funebre, Funeral march from Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3 in E♭ major, Op. 55 (Eroica) and Lacrimosa from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Requiem.
