The concert My Bloody Valentine featuring the talented soprano Aphrodite Patoulidou is dedicated to all those lonely souls who are forced to endure the cheerfulness of Saint Valentine’s day every year, feeling heartbroken.

The concert includes music ranging from Romantic composers’ pieces to jazz masterpieces and evocative traditional songs, creating an emotionally intense kaleidoscope of atmospheric melodies on one-sided love, betrayal, and the abrupt transformation of transcendental love to ardent hatred. Behind the concept of this concert, lies the terrifying shadow of the recent wave of femicides worldwide, along with the wish that the strong feelings emerging from the songs can contribute in their own way to raise more awareness about these tragedies.

This unusual programme includes songs and music pieces that have been selected and will be performed by soprano Aphrodite Patoulidou, an artist who has left her own distinctive mark on many prestigious stages across the world over the last years as a performer of opera, classical singing, metal music, and traditional songs from all over Europe. She strongly holds the belief that music should not be categorized into separate genres, but should instead be experienced through connections that bring together different musical styles in order to evoke unparalleled emotional responses from both the audience and the performers.
